About

ConvertX is a web app for converting files between more than a thousand formats. Under the hood it calls established tools such as FFmpeg for video, ImageMagick and Vips for images, Pandoc and LibreOffice for documents, Calibre for e-books and Assimp for 3D assets.

It suits anyone who wants file conversion on their own machine instead of sending files to a third party service. You create the first account after startup, can add more accounts, and converted files are deleted automatically after a set age, 24 hours by default.

Key features

  • Converts between over 1000 formats covering images, video, documents, e-books, 3D assets, vector graphics and data files.

  • Processes multiple files at once.

  • Password protection and multiple accounts.

  • Deletes converted files older than a set age, 24 hours by default.

  • Custom FFmpeg input and output arguments, for example for hardware acceleration.

  • Optional account registration and unauthenticated access controls.

  • Custom branding for the site name and a configurable web root path.
