Gogs
Web-based Git service for hosting repositories with issues, pull requests, wikis, webhooks and user or organization management.
About
Gogs is a Git service with a web interface for hosting code repositories. It covers the parts of a code host most teams need, from user and organization management to issues, pull requests, wikis and webhooks.
It is written in Go and ships as a single independent binary that runs on Linux, macOS, Windows and ARM-based machines like the Raspberry Pi. A $5 cloud droplet is enough to get started, and 2 CPU cores with 512MB RAM is the baseline for teamwork. That low footprint is what sets it apart from larger code hosting platforms.
Key features
- Access repositories over SSH, HTTP and HTTPS.
- Issues, pull requests, wiki, protected branches and collaboration.
- Repository and organization webhooks, including Slack, Discord and Dingtalk.
- Git hooks, deploy keys and Git LFS support.
- Migrate and mirror repositories with wiki from other code hosts.
- Web editor for quick edits to repository files and wiki.
- Authentication via SMTP, LDAP, reverse proxy, GitHub and GitHub Enterprise with 2FA.
- Runs on PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB or SQLite3.
Requirements
Database support includes PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite3 or any backend that speaks one of those protocols. A Raspberry Pi or $5 DigitalOcean droplet is enough to start, some run it in 64MB RAM Docker. 2 CPU cores and 512MB RAM is the baseline for teamwork.
